7 x 16 I've always loved Japanese magnolias, but they don't live very long after cutting. I was trying to paint fast but finally had to use photographs. I much prefer painting from life, but this seemed to work. Did it?
Hi Ann, it's been a long time since I've seen your tulip watercolors, I went to CCAC with you years ago. It's nice to see that you are still painting. I just found your blog and think your oils are wonderful! I'll be checking in alot!
After many years of painting very slowly in watercolor (they would sometimes take months to finish) I realized that I no longer had the motivation or patience and switched to oils. I was quickly humbled by plein air painting however, even though it was wonderful to be out doors. My current focus and one that I am much more comfortable with is still life painting. I paint on linen mounted on birch or gatorboard.
I hope you enjoy my work and I would appreciate any comments or suggestions.
